A few days agoI posted that I had released a photoshop file on Github that should help when designing Alexa Skill logos.

Today I have completed a similar simple tool. The new tool simply demonstrates how a logo may show when displayed on the Alexa Skill store or in the skills app. The new tool can be found in the newly created Alexa Skills section (which can be found in the top links. Alternatively access it directly HERE.

I am always keen on receiving feedback or suggestions. Be sure to let me know what you think.

New Tool For Evaluating Your Skill Logo

When creating a skill 1 of the often overlooked aspects is the design of the logo. I have been guilty of this myself and ended up with an image that did not work out so well.

An issue that I had not considered originally was the fact that Amazon encases the skill logo in a circular frame. This will leave some aspects of the original image hidden and it is, of course, important that vital aspects of your logo are not contained within these hidden regions.

The Amazon Alexa team recently posted on the Alexa blog. The Amazon Echo was initially released on November 6th, 2014 to Prime members (and June 23rd, 2015 for non-Prime users). To have achieved sp many skills in such a short period of time is made even more impressive by the fact that skill developers currently cannot monetize their skill.

New Calendar Added To Alexa

Submitted by Peter on Fri, 02/24/2017 - 20:12

1 much-requested feature for Alexa was the ability to use Office 365 calendars. In today's Amazon Echo newsletter they mentioned that support has been added for,,, and calendars. Of course, an office 365 account does not end in any of these but I thought I would give it a try regardless. To my delight, it worked.
